Effective Patent Protection at Trade Fairs by Provisional Injunctions - The Example of the "bauma 2010" in Munich
At the trade fair "bauma 2010" in Munich, which took place from 19th to 25th April 2010, we were able to successfully and effectively take action on behalf of our client, a company active throughout the world in the construction industry, against two patent-infringing companies by means of provisional injunctions. The booths were completely cleared of all patent-infringing products, samples and catalogues by the court bailiff on the third day of the trade fair.

bauma 2010 in Munich: Options for Advance Border Detention Prior to the Begin of the Trade Fair
From April 19 to 25, 2010, Munich is host to the 29th International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment, "bauma 2010". This is the world's largest trade fair in this field. For goods to be imported into Germany for exhibition at the bauma 2010 and suspected of infringing an IP right, German customs authorities can take action upon request even before the opening of the trade fair.

Advice for petitions for border seizure
Community applications pursuant to Art. 5(4) Regulation (EC) No. 1383/2003 for customs action, i.e. so-called petitions for border seizure, must also be filed online at the German Central Customs Authorities even if the application for the respective Community right was filed in another Member State but extends to Germany.
