Particular expertise in the field of litigation of pharmaceutical products and border seizure measures/anti-counterfeiting measures. Involved in numerous pharmaceutical patent litigation cases on both sides (proprietor as well as generic challenger).

Studied biochemistry at the Free University (FU) of Berlin (1981-1986). Diploma and doctoral thesis at the Institute of Biochemistry of the FU Berlin. Scholarship from the Fonds der chemischen Industrie. Joined the Corporate Legal and IP Department of Bayer AG, Leverkusen in 1989. Various positions, including Head of the Litigation Department. From 2004 - 2007 Corporate Director of IP of Altana Pharma AG, Konstanz. From 2007 - 2011 Global Head Patents of Sandoz International GmbH, Germany, the Generics Division of Novartis AG. With Hoffmann · Eitle since 2011.
