Examination, opposition and appeal proceedings before the European and German Patent Offices as well as the Federal German Patent Court, litigation and legal opinions, particular emphasis on cases in the biochemistry and biotechnology sectors involving genes, proteins, transformed cells, transgenic plants and animals, screening assays, plant applications before the Community Plant Variety Office and the German Plant Variety Office.

Career:
Studied biochemistry at the University of Essex, concentrating on molecular biology and protein biochemistry, B.Sc. 1988. Ph.D. thesis in the area of the synthesis and degradation mechanisms of proteins. Graduated 1994 at the University of London through the Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School. Postdoctoral research associate at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Harvard University in the areas of protein biochemistry and cell biology. Clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry. With Hoffmann · Eitle since 1996; German Patentanwalt since 1999 and European Patent Attorney since 2001.
Personal:
Three children. Leisure interests include swimming, tennis, golf and modern art.
