Career:
Studied electrical engineering at the Technical University Munich specializing in telecommunications, high frequency engineering, research in the field of optical communications at University College London and the Research Laboratories of Siemens AG, Munich. Scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD) for postgraduate studies at University College London. Awarded the Ph.D. (integrated optics) in electrical engineering from the University of London in 1989. Lecturer in microwave technologies at King’s College London from 1990 to 1991. Lecturer in IP law at Saarland University from 1995-2000; regular lectures on patent law at the Technical University Munich, active in the patent field since 1989.
