Studied electrical engineering at the Technical University Munich (emphasis on communication and control engineering), Doctoral thesis and doctorate at the Ruhr University Bochum in the field of medical electronics. Five years of experience as research engineer in medical engineering in the USA (Princeton, NJ). Work in image analysis, ultrasound and NMR systems. With Hoffmann ยท Eitle since 1996. German Patent Attorney since 1999, European Patent Attorney since 2000. Partner since 2003.

Married, three children. Interests include wind surfing, sailing, skiing, photography.
