Main field of practice is industrial property law. Advising and representation of clients in patent litigation and in the fields of licensing, competition law, distribution law, general contract law, commercial and corporate law. Special expertise in counselling Japanese enterprises on German and European law and European enterprises on Japanese law.

Career:
Study of law and Japanese studies in Marburg, Freiburg and Hirosaki (Japan) from 1993 to 2000; scholar of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Japanese government from 1995 to 1996; First Juridical State Examination in Freiburg (2000). Two-year Master’s program in law at the Tōhoku University in Sendai (Japan) from 2000 to 2002, as a scholar of the DAAD and the Japanese Government. Research assistant in the department of Japanese law at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign Private and International Private Law as well as legal traineeship in Hamburg and Tokyo from 2002 to 2005. Second Juridical State Examination in January 2006. Awarded a juridical doctorate (Dr. jur.) by the Albert-Ludwigs-University (Freiburg University) in 2005.
