Studied electrical engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, with focus on telecommunications and digital signal processing, graduating in 2005. Received the Lucent Technologies award for his distinctive performances during the intermediate diploma in 2002. Student research project with the topic "creating a program for wavelet signal processing using the multi resolution analysis" in 2004. Diploma thesis with the topic "traffic modelling and performance analysis in UMTS networks for different kinds of services" in 2005. Research engineer at Ericsson Aachen, developing link layer protocols for UMTS networks and being introduced to the work of a patent engineer in the local patent department from 2005-2006.
