Denmark accedes to the London Agreement
According to information from the EPO, Denmark deposited the ratification instruments with the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 17 January 2008.
Hence, Denmark is the 13th contracting state of the EPC to accede to the Londong Agreement which was concluded in London in 2000 with the aim of reducing the costs for post-grant translations of European patents.
With France having deposited the ratification instruments in late January of this year, the London Agreement enters into force on 1 May 2008. In general, European patent proprietors will no longer be required to file a full translation of the patent specification granted for an EPC contracting state which is party to the London Agreement and having one of the three EPO languages as an official language.
