Examination, opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office. Preparation of opinions regarding validity, infringement and freedom to operate under British law. Expertise with patent work in a wide variety of technical fields within chemistry, including pharmaceutical chemistry (e.g. omeprazole formulations, Alzheimer's medication, botulinum toxin uses, eye medication and ocular implants), polymer chemistry (e.g. PET bottles) and food chemistry (chewing gum and chocolate) as well as enzyme formulations. Particular expertise in EPO opposition cases, frequently pleading at oral proceedings. Experience with coordination of multi-jurisdiction litigation, and involvement in litigation in countries such as Denmark, Germany, the UK, Italy, Romania, the Ukraine, Russia, Mexico, Singapore and USA.

Career
Studied chemistry (inorganic, organic and physical chemistry) at Oxford University (Keble College) 1998-2002. Graduated with a Master's honours degree in 2002, having carried out a final year research project and written a thesis in the field of inorganic chemical crystallography. Obtained Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary College, University of London. With Hoffmann · Eitle since 2002. British and European Patent Attorney since 2006.
