No Lawyer to Sue

A good and kind engineer died, but St. Peter told him when he appeared at the Pearly Gates that as an engineer he had been sent to the wrong place. The engineer duly reported to the gates of hell and was gladly admitted. Although the engineer found he was well like by one and all, he did find the level of comfort to not be as good as it could be. Therefore, as engineers are inclined to do, he started redesigning and making some improvements. After a while, hell had air conditioning, flush toilets and even escalators.

God had been hearing some gossip and so called Satan to find out what was going on down there in hell.

Satan was glad to tell him: "You will not believe all the new improvements we have. We've got air conditioning, flushing toilets and working escalators, and there's no telling what our new engineer might think up next!" God was astonished: "What? Where did you get an engineer? There has to have been a mistake; send him right back up."
"No way”, replied Satan, “I like having an engineer around, and I won’t give him up."

At this God felt he had to exert some power: "Send that engineer right up here or I'll sue." Satan had to laugh right out loud. His answer to God: "Not going to happen. And, by the way, just where do you think you are going to find a lawyer?"
