Career
Studied biology at the University of Ulm (1999-2001) and University of Tübingen (2001-2004), Germany, graduating in microbiology, genetics and biochemistry. Doctorate in 2008 at the Institute of Microbiology/Biotechnology, University of Tübingen in the field of antibiotic biosynthesis and resistance in streptomycetes. Scholarships from the German Research Foundation (DFG, fellow of the graduate college 685) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF, "GenoMik-Plus" funding project). Postdoctoral scientist at the School of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin-Madison (WI, USA) with Prof. B. Shen, studying bleomycin antitumor antibiotics and isolation of novel natural products from 2008-2010. With Hoffmann · Eitle since 2010.
