Career
Studied bioengineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo/Japan). Received Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University (MD/USA). Doctoral thesis in an interdisciplinary field of materials science & engineering and neuroscience performed mainly at Applied Physics Laboratory (MD/USA). Post-doctoral scientist at Max-Planck Institute. Continued research in the same field at the Institute for Physical and Chemical Research, RIKEN (Japan) and Applied Physics Laboratory. Author of a number of publications in the areas of bioengineering, biomaterials and neuroscience. Entered patent practice with a patent law firm in Tokyo. Summer associate/intern positions with law firms in Washington, DC and Munich. Received Juris Doctor from Franklin Pierce Law Center. Passed the U.S. Patent Bar Examination (limited recognition, expired). With Hoffmann · Eitle since 2007.
