Hoffmann Eitle - München, London

Recordations

Under world-wide law, only that party registered as the owner may enjoy the rewards to be gained from IP rights such as patents, trademarks, utility models and designs. It is therefore crucial that the respective Patent and Trademark Offices be informed immediately of any changes regarding the holder of an IP right or his address.

The Recordation Department at Hoffmann · Eitle is responsible for ensuring that the transfer of an IP right (e.g. by assignment, merger, transformation, inheritance or liquidation) or a change of name or address of the IP right holder is properly recorded by the responsible authorities in foreign countries and/or in Germany. The team in this department is highly trained and competent, with decades of experience in dealing with this complex task. Hoffmann · Eitle offers a comprehensive service in this area, ranging from the procurement abroad and in Germany of the necessary documents through the multiple steps needed to have a change properly recorded, up until the confirmation documents can be forwarded.

This can include complex correspondence with associates throughout the world. The services offered by this department also include applying for registration or cancellation of liens and security as well as for registration of exclusive licenses.
