A multidisciplinary chemist with a passion for innovation
Christian Devigny is a patent professional focused on protecting innovations in a wide range of technical fields, including organic and inorganic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, polymers, chemical processes and consumer goods. Working with large international companies as well as individual inventors, he has helped his clients to maintain, grow and create their patent portfolios. Over the years, Christian has gained solid and extensive experience in examination, opposition and appeal proceedings before the EPO.
Before joining HOFFMANN EITLE in 2013, Christian studied chemistry and chemical engineering in France (CPE Lyon) and the United States (University of Notre Dame), obtaining his Master's degree in 2006. He obtained his PhD in biochemistry at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich, studying the endogenous hormones responsible for the stress response. Later, as a postdoctoral researcher in the pharmaceutical industry, Christian developed new organic compounds for the treatment of psychiatric disorders. He is the author of several scientific publications. Christian graduated from CEIPI (specialisation in patent law) in 2015.
When not in the office, Christian can be found outdoors with his children or playing guitar in a jazz band.
