Specialisation
Intellectual property rights in the field of mechanical engineering and materials, in particular protection by optimal combination of patent and design rights, running parallel prosecution in Europe, US and (Far) East, opinion work and enforcement, and all proceedings before the European and Dutch Patent Office. Specific experience in sealing systems for extreme conditions, high pressure fluid dispensing devices, medical technology, ultrahard materials and technology that is subjected to surveyance of classification societies.

Career
Studied materials science at the Technical University Delft, obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge after research in the Physics Department. Held positions in industry and academia in Johannesburg (South Africa) and Nijmegen (Netherlands). Worked from 2000 for a large Dutch patent law firm, registering in 2003 as a Dutch Patent Attorney. Qualified in 2005 as a European Patent Attorney. With HOFFMANN EITLE since 2005.
