Peter Schweighart and Henrik Vocke, European and German patent attorneys and partners in HOFFMANN EITLE's mechanical engineering group, have written an article explaining the rules governing utility models in Germany and outlining the advantages and disadvantages of this form of IP right. The article has been published in the July/August 2009 edition of Managing Intellectual Property (MIP), as part of an overview comparing utility models in Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea and Russia.
