Nicholas Roberts is currently training to become a British and European patent attorney in the Mechanical practice group at HOFFMANN EITLE and is based in the London office. Nicholas works on cases spanning a range of technical fields including medical devices, energy systems, industrial and manufacturing technology, consumer products and packaging, and semiconductor technologies.
His focus is on patent drafting and prosecution before the EPO and the UKIPO, as well as assisting with opposition proceedings and the preparation of infringement and validity opinions.
Prior to joining HOFFMANN EITLE, Nicholas studied Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, specialising in bioengineering and sustainable energy systems. His self-proposed master’s dissertation, titled A Novel Tinnitus Acoustic Therapy Device, ranked in the top 5% of his cohort and sparked his interest in intellectual property. Nick subsequently completed a Professional Certificate in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at Imperial College London and has a particular interest in the application of AI to real-world systems.
Outside of work, Nicholas enjoys running, cooking and restoring vintage audio equipment.
