Rafaela Januário Marques has been working as a Professional Support Lawyer in the Patent Litigation and Contracts team at HOFFMANN EITLE since October 2025. She works on patent disputes before the Unified Patent Court and intellectual property agreements, particularly in life sciences and electronics.
Her role also involves analysing case law, preparing legal assessments, and developing internal knowledge resources, including databases and statistical analyses, to structure the firm’s patent litigation expertise.
As a Brazilian Attorney-at-Law, Rafaela began her career in civil and commercial contracts and litigation, where she developed an interest in intellectual property while advising businesses on contractual and regulatory matters, which ultimately led her to specialise in patent litigation.
To deepen her expertise, she completed an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Competition Law at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC). The program, jointly offered with leading European and U.S. universities, provided her with a strong and comprehensive foundation in both European and U.S. patent law.
Outside of work, she enjoys having coffee with friends, practising pilates, travelling, and running.
