Trademark Law: Those who think ahead, win.
Franz Münzner’s practice focuses on the prosecution and enforcement of trademarks, designs, and copyrights, as well as on unfair competition and related domain name issues. He also specializes in anti-counterfeiting, parallel imports, and the licensing and merchandising of brands.
He has a high standard for his work and completed his law degree as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Studies in Intellectual Property Law with distinction, receiving numerous scholarships. During his studies and legal traineeship, and later as a practicing attorney, he gained practical experience in international law firms as well as in a specialized boutique for intellectual property law, acquiring particular expertise in the enforcement of color trademarks. He is a doctoral candidate in trademark law and had research stays over a period of ten months at the University of Oxford (St. Hilda’s College) and the University of Cambridge (Darwin College).
Franz advises SMEs as well as multinational corporations across a diverse range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, consumer health care, household goods, IT, hospitality, banking, food & beverage, fashion and clothing, as well as the automotive and electrical engineering sectors. He represents clients in enforcing and defending IP rights before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), national German courts, the German Patent and Trademark Office, and the General Court of the European Union in Luxembourg.
He is an active member of GRUR. He frequently speaks at conferences and seminars and regularly produces publications on topics within his practice areas.
