Studied biology at the Universities of Ulm and Tübingen, Germany, graduating in microbiology, genetics and biochemistry. Doctoral thesis in 2008 at the Institute of Microbiology/Biotechnology, University of Tübingen in the field of antibiotic biosynthesis and resistance in streptomycetes. Postdoctoral scientist at the School of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin-Madison (WI, USA), studying bleomycin antitumor antibiotics and isolation of novel natural products (2008-2010). Scholarships from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). With HOFFMANN EITLE since 2010. German and European Patent Attorney since 2014.
