Melanie Schain has been working as an attorney in our Patent Litigation & Licensing practice group since 2023. Already during her studies at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, she was enthusiastic about intellectual property law and was able to intensively deal with the matter from an academic perspective as a student assistant at the renowned chair of Prof. Dr. Matthias Leistner. She became acquainted with the practice of intellectual property law during her work as a research assistant and trainee lawyer in a major international law firm in Munich and London. Melanie has a particular soft spot for patent law, where she is fascinated by the technical and scientific issues as well as their embedding in complex legal questions and approaches to solutions.
As a long-time coach of a competitive rowing group, Melanie is a born team player and knows the secret to success of motivation, coordination and endurance in order to achieve quick successes without losing sight of the overall strategic goal.
Outside the office, she enjoys being involved in the rowing team at the regatta course in Oberschleißheim or on stage in the theatre club.
