As a trained organic chemist, Dr. Lukas Lückemeier uses his expertise to advise clients in the fields of pharmaceuticals, catalysis and polymer chemistry. He leverages his technical knowledge and understanding to identify clients’ needs in protecting and managing intellectual property and developing tailored solutions adapted to European practice. He focuses on prosecution and opposition proceedings before the EPO.
Before joining HOFFMANN EITLE, Lukas studied chemistry at the University of Münster. During his master studies, he specialised in organic chemistry, in particular in the fields of hydrogenation, photochemistry, catalysis and organometallic chemistry. In addition, he gained valuable international experience through research stays at Princeton University and Peking University (Shenzhen), which helps him thrive in the multinational world of patents. In his doctorate, he studied liquid organic hydrogen carriers and developed novel methods for chemo- and stereoselective hydrogenation of multisubstituted aromatics. His research has been published in high-impact journals such as the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie and Chemical Society Reviews.
Exercise is an important part of Lukas’ life. He enjoys playing tennis and running long distances, including marathons.
