In the August 2012 issue of "Patents and Licensing", Dr. Matthias Kindler and Dr. Klemens Stratmann of HOFFMANN EITLE's chemistry department summarize seven decisions by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) which were issued in matters of supplementary protection certificates (SPCs) in the time period of late 2011 to early 2012. In view of these decisions, the authors specifically report on the requisites that need to be met by SPCs for active substance combinations.
